The dogs of Adopt a Husky of Dallas took center stage in February for the premiere of the new motion picture,
Eight Below. In response to an invitation from Rave Motion Pictures at Northeast Mall in Hurst,
volunteers and dogs filled the theater lobby with howls of fun from children who were petting our foster dogs,
and from the dogs who were enjoying the extra attention.
Because the stars of Eight Below are Siberian Huskies,
Rave corporate management wanted a responsible nonprofit rescue group on hand during the premiere to
educate movie goers on the challenges of having this breed as a companion animal.

Volunteers spoke with hundreds of adults about Siberian characteristics, distributed literature on the breed and Adopt a
Husky of Dallas, sold AHDI t-shirts and collected much needed donations.
Rave management provided several entertainment packages as raffle prizes and one of our volunteers acquired
Vera Wang gift baskets to lure the fashion conscious. Raffle tickets were given to anyone making donations to AHDI.
Volunteers also had the opportunity to address the audience at each showing of the feature,
which increased our visibility significantly in this area of the Metroplex.
We have received numerous e-mails and applications from this appearance and are processing them as quickly as possible.
