Once the Chuckchi Eskimos from Siberia depended on these dogs for
their very survival. The Siberian Natives even trusted their
huskies as babysitters for their children. In 1925, teams of
Siberian Huskies saved the Alaskan town of Nome from the
devastation of a diphtheria epidemic by bringing serum to the
town through one of Alaska's worst snowstorms. But now, the
survival of hundreds of the descendents of this noble breed is in
doubt. They die in dog pounds, the victims of greed, puppy mills,
unethical breeders and ignorant owners.
Adopt A Husky of Dallas is a non-profit organization dedicated to
saving these lost Siberians from their doom, to the education of owners in
how to care for them and for the promotion to the general public
the gentle and affectionate nature of the breed. We are
committed to finding
good homes in which to place our dogs. We have a responsibility to
these beautiful creatures to place them in a home where they will not
experience any further trauma or neglect. Our application and screening
process may seem complicated, but the stakes are high. So many dogs end up
in our care because they have been neglected or abandoned.
It is our goal that the next home after AHDI is a stable, loving,
"forever" home for the animals. We invest a lot in all of our dogs,
financially and emotionally.
And we want to make sure that they are going to be happy and loved
and well cared for. We love happy endings!

FOSTER HOMES URGENTLY NEEDED!
We need foster homes desperately. As you can see there are just more dogs than there are homes for these gentle, loving furballs.
Fostering is a rewarding way to save these beautiful animals from a certain death in a shelter. It amazes us that these dogs are abandoned and left for dead when all it takes is a little time spent with these lovable animals to transform them into a life-long family member.
All dogs are cleaned and flea-free and medically checked out before they go into a foster home. With every dog a training crate is supplied so he or she adapts to the new environment. If you have a just a little time I guarantee these creatures will find their way into your heart and they will be ever so grateful for you taking them in to your home. Most people who experience foster huskies end up keeping them, it never fails..............
If you feel you would like to foster please down load the Pre-Adoption/Foster application, fill it out and email it back to
hrescue@yahoo.com

Sachi, Red/White and Beautiful light Blue eyes, Aprox. 5 years old, she is a very loving gentle girl. She loves to be outdoors, she would stay there all day and night, hot or cold.. However, she would be a perfect indoor/outdoor dog, she is housebroken, up to date on all shots and spayed. I think she would love to have a playmate, she gets along well with other dogs. She is good around kids and cats. She is a typical Siberian, she loves to run and given the chance she will show you she can.. Needs a home with a yard.
Small rehoming fee Thanks, amber
He is a singer.... loves people and other dogs. Cute as a button.

Karma is a sweet young husky mix, about 1 year old, roughly 44 lbs,
spayed and up to date on shots. She's red and white, with one blue and
one brown eye. She gets along great with other dogs and children.
She's learning basic obedience and has mastered the "sit" command.
She's undergoing heartworm treatment and needs to be relatively quiet in
a crate for about a month. She's being cared for through PAWS Animal
Rescue group and needs a foster home. Indoors only. PAWS pays for food
and medical expenses for foster animals.
In September, 2007, I rescued 3 Huskies from neglect. They were in really bad shape when I got them. Two had a foot fungus and didn't have any hair on their legs, the legs were red, dry and cracked and their toenails were rotting out of their feet. They were not spayed/neutered, had hookworms, diarrhea, etc. (I think you get the picture). I have worked really hard on getting them healthy and they are now ready for adoption. I will be moving to Dallas in 4-6 weeks so I'm in crunch time as far as placing these guys.
Si (Top - pronounced like "eye") - 2 1/2 yr. old Male (70 lbs.) - current on all vaccines, neutered, microchipped, on heartworm preventative. Very sweet and good with kids, but high energy and aspires to win the Ididerod (sp?) - how do I know this? Because he walks me everyday.
Bobbi Lou - 1 1/2 yr. old Female (49 lbs.) - current on all vaccines, neutered, microchipped, on heartworm preventative. Very sweet and good with kids, but loves to be outside and running around.
Gigi - 5 1/2 yr. old Female (49 lbs.) - current on all vaccines, spayed, microchipped, on heartworm preventative, and surgery 3 mos. ago on left rear knee to repair old injury. This girl is very sweet, mild mannered, good with kids and potty trained. I would rather her be adopted to someone who keep her primarily inside.

Niko is losing his home because the other two dogs in this home are no longer accepting him and the people don't have time to work with the dogs.
His owners actually got Niko off Freecyle if you can believe that! Now they no longer want him. Look how gorgeous he is. If you know anyone that likes Siberian Huskies, send them our way please.
Niko is a 3 yr old male, purbred Siberian Husky. He's an intelligent, fun-loving, active dog who can “sit” and “shake” and goes into his crate when instructed. He likes to run around and also likes lots of petting. He's always been good with older kids and sometimes with other dogs but he can be dominant with them sometime. He would be very happy to be in a stable home with someone to work with him on a daily basis to teach him new things. He's very talkative and will sometimes try and actually speak to you. Niko is also neutered and has a clean bill of health from the vet.
Adoption fee is $65.This is Sasha a former resident of The Texarkana Animal Shelter. Formerly #2416. Sasha is one year old, 40#s, spayed, vaccinated including rabies, heart worm neg and on preventative. Sasha was saved from death row at the shelter by The Poodle Patch & Friends AND her Fairy Dogmother- a nice lady from Colorado who offered to sponsor her full vetting in exchange for rescuing her. We could not say "no" to such a generous offer. So we made a space for Sasha and she is in rescue with us now. Please consider her for adoption. If we are able to adopt Sasha, that frees up a space in our rescue for another unfortunante soul on death row. To apply, email thepoodlepatchtexarkana@yahoo.com. and request an application be emailed to you. To learn more about our organization, visit www.poodlepatch.petfinder.com. All of our pets are in private foster homes. You may also call Amanda at (903) 701-3571.
Thanks!
Zynn is a 9 month old red and white Siberian Husky.
Zynn adores playing and wrestling with other dogs. She also enjoys playing with just about any kind of toy and snuggling on the bed at night. The rest of her time is spent gnawing on whatever bone she's given. Over all, she's pretty easily pleased.
Zynn is also a typical Siberian Husky in that she will climb or jump fences. For that reason, she'll either need a home with a 6-8 foot wooden or other solid material fence, or no fence at all where she'll only be taken out on leash. Shorter fences are too much temptation for an owner to let her outside and too much temptation for her to jump.
Shelby: 4 month old female, will probably be 60-70 lbs when full grown. Shelby is a sweet heart that was left on the side of a busy street in northwest Houston and a good samiritan picked her up only to discover that she is a SWEETHEART!!! The current home is unable to keep her but they have given her good vet care and a chance at life... now Shelby is looking for someone to give her another chance and a permanent home. Shelby is good with other dogs, she has not been aggressive with cats and she loves to play like most pups. She is being kept as an outside dog right now, but we would like to see her get a home that her allows her to enjoy a good nap by the air conditioning. Shelby is a quick learner and is eager to please so she should be a very trainable dog. Thanks for considering Shelby as a candidate pack member.

Boo Boo, an 8-year-old neutered male husky who was orphaned when his owner died, needs a home. Boo Boo is a sweet and happy dog with a tail that doesn't stop wagging, loves to go for daily walks, loves to chase squirrels (even though one left him with permanent damage in his right eye ). He requires a home with a fenced yard to keep him from running away (like any husky). Boo Boo is an inside/outside dog who loves to be in the house with his owner.

Zeke - (Dallas, Texas) He is completely 110% housebroken. He would more likely hold his pee, than pee in the house. He is both outdoors and indoors...he has been indoor for me, but I believe he could adjust to being outdoors. He is great around other dogs. Cats, he likes to chase them. He is current and up to date on all vaccinations. I just moved here from California and it is required by American Airlines and the state of Texas that is he up to date on everything before traveling here. He has been neutered. He is a really loyal, and very sweet dog. I will NOT give him away to just anyone. I am ONLY giving him to someone who CAN provide BETTER than I can. This is not just about finding him a new home, but finding him a new home that can provide much more than I can. I love this dog dearly and actually hate to give him away, but I am really looking at what is in his best interest.

If Sierra below are not the match for your family Carole Sanders has many more wonderful dogs she has rescued and are out of harms way and safe.
With the help of a small but dedicated group of volunteers, Animal Angels is now a
safe haven for 250+ dogs. They come from all walks of life, in all sizes & all colors ... all needing that special care and love.
This is the Collie/Husky we just got. His name is Sierra.Really a beautiful boy.
Only about 2 years old. found him wandering on prison grounds and recognized him.
His owner who lived a short distance from the prison, had his trailer repo'd, got fired from the prison because
he was a screw up and is now in jail himself somewhere. Anyhow, first this beautiful guy lost his person then he found himself in a yard
with no home attached. Confusing for any dog.
